Auric state is an incomplete article, and should probably be looked at in the future. I'm just sayin'.

An Auric state is, according to Concordian law, is a community whose primary governmental system is run by an Auric individual, and whose daily processes and responsibilities go toward the increase of Auric social power or representation.

Overview[edit | edit source]

A nation or territory is declared an Auric state when three criteria are met.

  • It is run primarily by an Auric person(s).
  • Has a population recognizable as even a smaller nation.
  • Makes it a goal to devote many or most of their resources to Auric needs.

It is only when these criteria are met that an entity be declared an Auric state. As such, a state of this kind is able to have nearly any form of government, including those with no definitive leader, so long as Auric people are the focus of the efforts of the government.

The leaders of Auric states are called Outer Lords, whom are considered to be the central authority figures and the heads of state that The Concord address.

Many states of this kind have a central religion that they follow, most often dealing with their Outer Lord and any Progenitor(s) they believe responsible for their existence. While some notable ones allow for the observing of other religious views, even some with agnostic or atheistic leanings, they are less common. As such, many of their communities can be described as Auric theocracies; a trend that has begun to come under scrutiny from more scientifically-inclined communities, both magic-adhering and otherwise.

Perhaps unfortunately, it has been very common for these states to fall under a magocratic rule, where Auric people have more rights than others. In many cases, those whom are not Auric are either vilified, denied citizenship, or even denied basic human rights.
